Branding jumps the shark, er, the fish

Fish no longer, they are now Sea Kittens!

Fish no longer, they are now Sea Kittens!

What a sad day it is when an organization attempts to further guilt the public with a horrible “rebrand” of fish. Yes, Fish. Like the little things in our seas, oceans and lakes. Rebrand them. Fish have a brand?

Not only to moves like this perpetuate a number of misconceptions involving the word “brand,” but it’s just plain ridiculous. PETA has a decent purpose when focusing on endangered species and cruel treatment in other areas of the carnivorous world. However, they tend to cross the line very often into the absurd which actually ruins their own brand.

By petitioning to rebrand fish, PETA furthers its own brand as being perceived as complete whackos and kooks.

Sea kittens are very cute though.

I want a SEA KITTEN. I don’t even care if they really are fish.

Where do you get your inspiration? I love your writing style. I just hope that I could write something like this someday.
